School donation information
We request a donation from school families to help provide our children with extra classroom resources and support because our high decile rating means that we receive less government funding per pupil than many other schools in our area and throughout New Zealand.
We want Hokowhitu School students to have the same access to additional resources that will support student learning as any other school. We rely on the goodwill of our families to pay a donation that will help provide our children with access to special programmes, to modern and up-to-date curriculum materials, and to sustain our ICT tools and programmes.
School donation amount
For 2017, the details of the donation we request are:
- We request a donation of $160 per child per year ($120 for Community Service Card holders), with a family maximum of $240 per family.
- For students entering during the school year, the donation is prorated according to the number of terms he or she will be attending.
Paying your donation also entitles you to a discounted pool key over the summer, and you’re able to claim 33% of the money back in next year’s tax return.
Payment can be made by cheque, eftpos, or internet banking. Internet banking details can be found in the "Contact Us" section of our website.
You can arrange to pay by instalments or direct debit if that would help.
We are very grateful for your willingness to support the provision of additional learning resources at Hokowhitu School.
