At the time of writing this newsletter, EOTC week is in full swing. It has been so exciting for so many children - from the clever little people who have learnt to ride a bike without their trainer wheels, to the super sleuths of orienteering or amazing races, to the triathletes who gallantly raced to the end, to the budding Lydia Ko’s and/or potential Steven Adams of this world - everyone has been participating fully and learning lots of new skills and attitudes. Spending time in team building activities at this stage of the year is vital for relationships, both with peers and teachers.
Summer sports are underway already. Thank you so much to those of you who have put your names forward to act as coaches and/or managers - we simply couldn’t enter teams without your help. A plea from me - children and parents alike, please show your appreciation to your coach/manager by attending practices, arriving promptly for games and being respectful of decisions they make. If for any reason you cannot attend, please make sure they know in advance - as being a member of a team requires commitment.
Over the last week you have received several very important notices. Thank you to those of you who have already returned your EOTC notice and/or popped your term calendar somewhere for ready access. If you have not received your kete newsletter or the EOTC permission slip or the term calendar, please phone the office and we can arrange to get another one to your child.
Welcome to the 2017 school year. A very special welcome to our new students, who have all made fantastic starts at our school. We have an ‘action packed’ term planned and can’t wait to share it with the children and our community whanau.
