Today is the last day of Term 1. What an action packed term we’ve had! Whanaungatanga was our inquiry focus and we had a great time establishing relationships and working together with our own whanau class, our kete and our buddies along with the shared experiences of EOTC week and sporting events.
Term 2 opens at 8.50am on Monday, 1st May. Our school-wide inquiry focus for next term is Tangata Whenuatanga (which loosely translates to identity and heritage). The teachers are already planning exciting programmes to support this concept, including investigations around Matariki, a marae visit (date to be confirmed) and our always special ‘book week’. Our cross country run (followed by the interschool event) is held Term 2 too - so maybe these holidays could be a good time to start building fitness levels?
We farewell Andrew Woller at the end of next week. Andrew has done a great job in filling the fixed term role as our caretaker while we advertised and made a new appointment. My sincere thanks to you Andrew.
We will welcome Steve Cooke as our new caretaker from the beginning of next term.
