Entries for August 2016

Term 3, Week 5 2016

Excitement levels are almost at ‘fever pitch’ as we approach Major Production week! A reminder that Thursday is both dress rehearsal AND performance day so it is important that they are at school on time on Thursday morning and again at the Regent Theatre between 6.10 and 6.15pm next Thursday evening, (see last week’s notice explaining which door they should enter from).
We are confident that you will enjoy the show, and will appreciate that there has been a vast amount of learning to get to ‘performance’ standard.

Once tickets have sold out from our school office, you will need to purchase them directly from the Regent Theatre.

While school will be open as usual at 8.50am on Friday following the production, it is acceptable for you to bring your child into school at 10am that morning, if you feel they are extra tired.

We have had a very kind offer (from Seongin’s dad) to take photos of the production - thank you! Is there someone out there with the gear and skills to offer to video the show too?

Term 3, Week 4 2016

What a busy, busy week we’ve had. Dance lessons, world of maths roadshow, class photos for everyone, TKT have treated Milverton Kindergarten children to a mini-Olympic games and the student council and PTA have combined to be offering a warm milo (and marshmallow) on a Friday at lunchtime for $1.00. Funds raised from the Friday lunchtime ‘treat’ go towards subsidising EOTC activities across the school.

Term 3, Week 3 2016

Thank you so much to everyone who made the time to come to learning conferences this week. The children really shine when they get to share their successes/progress with you. You will have received part 2 of your child’s progressive report as you left the conference too.

My sincere thanks to the teaching team who each put considerable (term vacation) time into the preparation of these reports, along with planning the exciting learning programmes for this term.

Term 3, Week 2 2016

Thank you to our great PTA team who take responsibility for both ‘fun’ and ‘fundraising’ to provide extra things for the children here at school. This year they have already provided subsidies to camp fees, made a generous contribution to the update of the pirate ship, supported the student council in selling juicies, organised lunch orders each term, provided money for wet weather activities in classrooms, held a disco, subsidised the upcoming dance lessons, and most recently, purchased the new cargo net under the treehouse. What a list of achievements - ALL to make our school a great place to be for kids!

We appreciate that not everyone can make the time to be an active member of the PTA, but hugely appreciate everyone who supports the fundraising activities in any way. Meeting times alternate each month as some people can only come during the day, and some can only make evening meetings. It is not problematic to us, come when you can. If you can’t attend meetings, but are willing to help out with an ‘event’ every now and then, please let us know - your offer will be gratefully accepted.

The PTA is planning a garage sale for the first Saturday of the Term 3 holidays, so please start putting aside saleable items - we will call for them to be delivered to school in the last week of the term. We will also welcome help with sorting, pricing and selling on the day, so mark the 24th September on your calendar! Thank you
