There is NO school for the tamariki tomorrow. We are having a TEACHER ONLY day, and the staff will be working
on end of year reporting details.
We look forward to seeing the children back from 8.30am on Monday 16th November.
Term 4, Week 4 - 2020

Earlier this week Mrs Hodge, Mrs Griffin and Mr Chadwick walked the Waka Iti children down to Milverton
Kindergarten to visit them in their setting. Visits like this can help to smooth the transitions from ECE to school and it
also gives our newest school learners the chance to reconnect with early childhood experiences. This is especially
powerful for children who may have attended the centre themselves, or those at kindy who will be attending our
school when they turn 5.
Earlier in the term Waka hosted tamariki from Hokowhitu Kindergarten - for exactly the same reasons.

The Year 4 sleepover and EOTC day out to Nga Manu was a huge success. My sincere thanks to Mrs Gifford Moore,
Miss Bisset and Miss Weeks for their enthusiasm and passion to see this go ahead. Special thanks to the team of
parents who also gave their time to support the staff - staying overnight, food prep, and support with groups on
Friday. We simply couldn’t have done it without you! Ka pai.

Welcome to the always ‘action packed’ Term 4. I know we say we have loads of exciting things planned every term
(and we do), but there is something extra special about the final term of the school year.
Attached with this newsletter is a term calendar - accurate at the time of production. While there are often changes
and/or additions, this gives you a good head start as an overview of this term.
