Due to the change in Covid 19 Alert Levels, we reluctantly postponed our Pool Party this week. We have rescheduled this fun event for Wednesday 3rd March starting at 5.00pm. Pop this date into your calendar now.
We look forward to seeing everyone next Tuesday evening (from 5pm) for our ever-popular ‘Pool Party’. This gives parents/caregivers/staff and whānau the opportunity to mingle and chat. It is also a chance for you to meet our Board of Trustees and our new PTA members! All Hokowhitu School children will receive a ticket for a free sausage.
Bring the family, the PTA will be selling sausages ($2.00), american hotdogs ($3.00) and juicies ($1.00) for an easy meal option. PLEASE BRING THE RIGHT CASH, WE WILL NOT HAVE A LARGE FLOAT.
The pool will be open for anyone wanting a swim and we will have some sports equipment out too, so do come along and join the fun.
Welcome to the 2021 school year. A very special welcome to our new learners, who have made fantastic starts at our school. We have an ‘action packed’ term planned and can’t wait to share it with the children and our community whānau. Our inquiry focus to start the year is centred around the concepts of ‘Te Whare Tapa Wha’ (hauora and wellbeing).
Thank you so much to everyone who attended our prize giving on Monday evening. The weather was ideal, the ‘live performances’ were superb and it was lovely to be able to recognise so many of our pupils.
We are very aware that some children have to manage disappointment if they don’t receive the roles they had their heart set on -congratulations on being able to show resilience and please know that there will be other leadership responsibilities coming up next year.
Thank you so much for your generosity with “Pack the Bus’ items provided for our mufti day earlier this week. We were genuinely gob-smacked with the amazing gifts and food items that were donated to support local families who are in need over the coming weeks. This is one of the many things that our school community does REALLY well - help out others in their time of need - what a fantastic community minded spirit, especially at this time of the year.
