We are in the final stages of planning our layout for 2016 and have some exciting changes to look forward to. The Year 0-2 areas of the Tararua team will be located in Rooms 1/2/3/4/5/6 and 7 - Ruma Rima (5) will be our brand new class and will form part of a new kete with Ruma Ono (6) and Whitu (7) once the building is complete. Year 3 learners will be in Te Kete Manawa TKM; Year 4/5 will be in Te Kete Aronui (TKA) and the Year 5/6 kete will be over on the ‘island’ in the soon to be developed Te Kete Tangaroa or TKT!
This makes logical sense as we progress in an anticlockwise direction from our youngest learners around to the eldest.
Some of the building and modifications will not be undertaken until school finishes, so there will be changes over the holiday period.
Congratulations to all our finalists in the 2016 Manawatu Digi Awards. We were very proud of all our entries!
A very special congratulations to Ruma Whitu’s Maia, Charlotte and Sophie who won the mini documentary category at Years 1-3. This is a stunning effort - well done to each of you!
Congratulations and thanks to Priscilla Gifford Moore and Luke Roper for the highly successful Year 3 sleepover last weekend. Thanks to Shaun Blackler, David Prisk, Rebecca McCarthy, Terry Mason, Gaylene Thompson and Ang Caldwell who participated and assisted Priscilla and Luke. Well done kids too - a step forward in independence!
At this week’s PTA meeting one of the actions planned for this term is a Friday filled with fun and fitness! For starters it is a mufti day and then at lunchtime there will be jump jam in the hall, ‘wheels’ down on the court, and other sporty activities.
Mark Friday, 13th November on your calendar!
It is another of those mufti days where we say ‘make a donation as big as you can’ as funds raised will be gifted to Ben McCarthy and his whanau. Mr McCarthy loves both fun and fitness - hence this concept.
