Hokowhitu School and Community
Hokowhitu School is located in the north-eastern sector of Palmerston North. The school grounds sit comfortably alongside Hokowhitu Park which provides extra space for coaching sport and sporting events.
The school lies about one kilometre from the river end of Albert Street in a mixed housing area but where real estate sells reasonably well. Hokowhitu is regarded as a desirable area in which to live and it is serviced by several small shopping complexes.

We are part of the Palmerston North Intermediate Normal School catchment and in turn, receive children from a number of pre-school centres.
The school has a main block that is over 75 years old and an adjoining block about 35 years old. A new classroom in traditional style because of heritage site requirements has been added to the main block and our new relocatable block of three classrooms has been sited so that the whole school is built around the inner quadrangle. This gives the school a feeling of unity.
A new library and infotech suite has been sited where our old administration block was once established and our new administration area has been built in the heart of the inner quadrangle so it is an integral part of the whole school.
